For my birthday, Matt came home with a bouquet of flowers and some gift cards. Since my birthday fell on a Friday night, we also went to see Hunger Games with friends. We're not movie theater-goers so this was a special treat. (The last movie we saw in the theater was Harry Potter #7.) It's been a few years since I've read the book, but I felt that the movie didn't disappoint. I was thoroughly entertained and actually wanted to go back and read the book again.
I was pretty satisfied with the casting, and I only noticed a few details that were different or omitted from the book.
We did Carter's birthday on Sunday night with family. Carter was excited to have his own cake (which Ariane made for us as a combined cake for Matt, Carter, and I). It was yummy and so sweet of her.

Matt's birthday was a big one this year--#30. I gave him a book of memories that I collected from family and friends, and there's nothing Matt likes more than a party! So I organized a party for his big day as well. Unfortunately I forgot my camera. Bummer. We had a great time eating hamburgers and hot dogs, socializing, and playing at the park with the kids. Matt was in heaven with so many great friends there to mingle with.

I'm glad we were able to celebrate with y'all for both of your birthdays. :) We love spending time with you. We had a great time at the movie and at Matt's party Saturday. I hope you had a good Easter!
Hope you had a great Birthday! Doesn't 29 feel so much older than 28? I think so. :) I can't wait to see The Hunger Games, too!
