The First Lady

One of the benefits of working as a librarian is that you get to meet authors. Laura and Jenna Bush just finished writing a children's book and were at the Barnes & Noble in the Woodlands on May 1. Since I happen to be doing my internship now, I got a wristband to the event. Here is a slide presentation I made using PhotoStory3. It was my first time to use this, but I had a lot of fun learning how to do it and have used it quite a bit since.

Stephenie Meyer was also in Houston last week signing for her new book, The Host. I was hoping to attend that event as well, which is why I waited so long for this post. Unfortunately, the wristbands were gone before my sister and I got to the Barnes & Noble to pick them up. We were all set to wear these cool pins I was given by the librarian I'm working with...one says 'Team Edward' and the other 'Team Jake'. (I would have worn the 'Team Jake' one!) I was bummed. I'm in the middle of reading her newest book right now.
