Pictures with Santa

Our neighborhood provides an opportunity to meet Santa each year. A lot of parents dress their kids up really nice for these pictures. That's not how we roll...
Austin wasn't scared of Santa this year!

I love Bryson's face in these pictures. The person in line before us was a family from church. The mom was holding a baby who kicked Bryson in the eye right as they went up to take pictures. Bryson is red-faced in these pictures from crying, but I love how he tried so hard to smile even though he had just been crying!

Santa Visit

Bryson refused to go anywhere near Santa so he didn't make it into the picture. Caleb, an unbeliever, DID NOT want to be in the picture. Like usual, he was a good sport when I asked him to be there near Bryson, hoping that would be enough security for Bryson. It didn't work.

Caleb stopped believing in Santa last year when he was 6. I can't quite pinpoint why--maybe a kid said something at school. Whenever he asked us if Santa was real last year, we would just respond along the lines, "Well, what do you think?" This year, while we've neither vocally confirmed or denied anything, the fact that he's had to remind us on a few different occasions to move our Elf on the Shelf (Elfie) when he sees it's still in the same place the next morning has kind of sealed the deal!

Santa

My parents took Caleb to their church Christmas party while Matt and I went to his work party. Here are a few pictures from the night:

Caleb is really into toys that make sounds right now. He just barely figured out how to press the 'on' button to get them to work. Grandma's house has LOTS of Christmas decorations that play music. Caleb loves this one particularly because it plays music AND there is a train that goes round and round. He gets so excited when the train comes back out of the tree. This is a picture of him looking for the train.
