I'm a Big Boy!

Carter has no interest in rolling over, but he definitely is interested in sitting up. He's not incredibly stable right now, so I have to constantly be next to him in case he falls over, but he's catching on really fast.

And of course if I'm taking pictures of Carter, Caleb has to be in one too!
Caleb is a great big brother. When we practice tummy time so Carter can learn to roll over, Caleb is quick to show him how it's done. "See Carter, like this." Carter can roll onto his side, but I think that he can't get enough momentum to roll all the way over due to his weight! :o) Caleb sat up before rolling over as well.

Milestones

With a whole day of eating, sleeping, and playing ahead of us, Caleb and I work on rolling over, sitting up, and standing up a lot. So it's fun to watch them begin to do these things on their own. I believe that babies are supposed to do those things in that order (adding crawling before standing), but I guess Caleb doesn't know that! He can now sit up all by himself. I'm a proud mom!

This is a picture on January 7 (4 1/2 months) of Caleb sitting up by himself for the first time. This was the first time where I felt like he could sit up long enough for me to take a picture. You can tell that he's leaning way forward. As the days have progressed, he can now sit up straighter.

Caleb has also started grabbing his feet when laying down and trying to suck on them. (This comes in very handy when I'm changing his diaper and he holds his own feet.) It was hard to catch a good picture on camera because by the time the picture would take, he would flail his arms out at the last second as seen below.

Rolling over is still a work-in-progress. He can roll from his stomach to his back now, but it takes a lot of work on his part--more than he's usually willing to give.

Caleb's favorite game as of late is sitting on Mommy or Daddy's lap while one of us hands him a toy to play with. He'll show interest for a few seconds, then drop it on the floor just for us to pick up again. He'll do this over and over without tiring...Matt and I get tired first!

Another cute smile I just had to add.
(His hair is finally growing!)
